It's crazy how the mind works during this weight loss journey. One day I can look in the mirror and feel absolutely incredible then the next day I feel like I look bigger than ever. Tuesday Training Tip: planks
Why plank? Simple answer is to increase strength and stability. Planks target muscles both big and small that together contribute to creating a strong base of support from which all movement is generated. Building and maintaining the strength and coordination of core musculature, working the stabilizers of the neck, shoulders and hips reduces risk of injury as well.
Primary muscles: core musculature, shoulder stabilizers, hip stabilizers
Level: beginner to advanced
Planks are a core workout staple
Assume a modified push-up position with your elbows bent 90 degrees and both forearms resting on the floor. Position your elbows directly underneath your shoulders and look straight toward the floor with your neck aligned with the rest of your spine. A straight line should be formed from crown of head to hips to heels - you can test this by placing a pvc pipe along your back. Shoulder blades should be down and back, low back arch should be neutral and hips extended. Feel abdominals, serratus anterior (muscles between ribs), shoulder stabilizers, quads, hip flexors and gluts all engage to maintain this position.

There comes a point in every athletes journey that you must with a free conscience know when it’s time to take weight off the bar and check back into your body.
I went to an osteopath recently because of some continuous lower back pain that I’ve been experiencing. He did wonders and of course told me to take it easy.
It’s honestly a sour thought to think you have to stop chasing numbers for a while, but form and injury prevention always come first.
So here I focused on slow tempo reps, keeping my core and back as rigid and tight as possible. I gripped the ground with my toes and drove my knees out.
Notice how I took a full inhalation into my diaphragm before each rep. This fortifies my trunk creating maximum stability.
So instead of the usual chasing 1RM, I went for a smooth 5x5 of 110kg.
So last night was a long one.. Was one of those ones where I could of been in there for 6hrs training absolutely everything.
But with my busy schedule, I just can't afford to do that anymore.
Capped it off at 3hrs with some handstand 'balancing' at the end.
I wouldn't ever advise any of my clients to train the way I do. Training for hours on end isn't good for the longevity of your bodies health.
I do it, cause I love training, I've always trained for hours and it allows me to eat as much shit as I want. My body definitely feeling it as I get older.
Most of it consisted of Oly lifting variations and partials. Loving throwing the bar above my head again but this time round I'm definitely gonna invest in a coach as I know I'm picking up bad habits.
The rest of the session I focused on 'pause reps'. Particularly, Squat and Bench. It's a great way of developing your strength, power, and improving technique. Not so fun for 10s with something on your back though.

Ich bekomme echt regelmäßig Fragen ob Lebensmittel X oder Y gut/schlecht sind. Ob man sie essen DARF 🤯 um dann zu fragen wie ich esse weil ich ab und zu mal sichtbare Bauchmuskeln habe.
Sooo lange hab ich genau das gleiche gemacht. Andere Diäten/Ernährungsweisen abgeguckt 🙈 und es hat nie was „gebracht“.
Den einzigen Rat den ich dir also geben möchte ist: do your research💡 Belies dich. Achte auf dich und wie dein Körper auf Lebensmittel reagiert. Lerne die Basics um deinen Körper und die Zusammenhänge zu verstehen. Das war für mich der Schlüssel die passende Ernährweise für MICH zu finden 🙌🏽 so cheesy das klingt aber ich hab mich noch nie so wohl in meinem Körper gefühlt ❤️

Carbs are delicious and, personally, I don’t discriminate. 🤣But, for one of my clients who struggled with trying to eat “perfectly”, like I used to, carbs made her anxious. 😬She felt like she could only allow herself to eat things that were “healthy” like sweet potatoes 🍠and Ezekiel bread. Now, I love those two as much as the next gal💁♀️, but when you tell yourself that’s ALL you can have your body is going to want to rebel and eat an entire loaf of white bread. 🍞Seriously, it’s happened to me! And it was happening to my client, too. She was frustrated that she was craving all of the “bad” carbs, she felt like something was wrong with her. 😤Why did she have ZERO willpower?
During her time in my 1:1 No Food Rules coaching program we redefined what healthy eating looks like. We actually scheduled in times for her to eat things like white bread and refined, buttery crackers😲. This allowed her to normalize these foods and remove the “bad” label causing her to crave them. Guess what? She found she didn’t even LIKE THEM! It was biology that was causing her to crave them, not a lack of willpower. When she realized this she was able to free herself from the constant thoughts of the carbs she “couldn’t” have and the guilt associated with them. If she wants to have a warm dinner roll when out on date night, she can- and WILL, but she no longer feels the pull to eat the entire basket. 🙌🏻THAT, my dears, is what it’s like to live the No Food Rules lifestyle!
