It is getting hot here in SoCal, but I still enjoy a cup of soup. I made asparagus “cream” soup for dinner and it was delicious. Super simple and healthy :) here is the recipe 🥣 -1 bunch of asparagus/ 1 small onion / 2 garlic cloves / 1/2 cup of water / salt and pepper. 🔹 chop the onions and garlic. Heat up a pan, add some oil and sauté the onions until they start getting soft, then add the garlic and sauté until fragrant. 🔷 cut the asparagus in 3 parts. Add them to a pot, add the water and cook until they are a little tender. 🔷 drain the asparagus, reserve the water. Add the asparagus to the onions and garlic and sauté. Add salt and pepper. Once the asparagus are soft, pour the mixture into a blender. Add the reserved water and blend until smooth. Check the seasoning and adjust. You can also add some broth. Enjoy! 👌🏼
Ya esta haciendo calor en el sur de California, pero yo igual disfruto de un bowl de sopa. Hice crema de espárragos para la cena y estuvo deliciosa. Super simple y saludable. Acá está la receta 🥣 🔸 1 atado de espárragos / 1 cebolla pequeña/ 2 dientes de ajo/ 1/2 taza de agua / sal y pimienta. 🔸 corta la cebolla y los ajos en cuadrados. Calienta una sartén, agrega un chorrito de aceite y saltea las cebollas hasta que se pongan suaves. Agrega el ajo y saltea hasta que se sienta el aroma.
🔸 corta los espárragos en 3 partes. Cocinalos con la 1/2 taza se agua hasta que estén un poquito suaves, pero no del todo cocinados.
Remueve los espárragos del agua. Reserva el agua para después.
🔸 agrega los espárragos a la mezcla de la cebolla y ajo y saltea hasta que estén suaves. Sazona con sal y pimienta. Pasa la mezcla a la licuadora, agrega el agua de la cocción de los espárragos, licúa hasta formar una crema y listo. Si lo quieres mas aguadito puedes agregar un poco de caldo.

84° today at 10:30am required a quick pool session with these two. It's days like this I appreciate my good health. Being a full time working parent isn't easy. Add bad health on top of that and it can get pretty exhausting and unrewarding. I know it because I felt it. The stronger my health got the more I enjoyed being a mother. I wasn't busy anymore feeling sick, heavy, bloated and lethargic anymore. I was eating better, sleeping better, waking up easier and had new energy and drive to be the best I could be. All because I felt better on the inside. I felt at peace with myself and I could see the benefits unfold in my life simply by making that effort to take care of myself.
I am fully able to enjoy them and not sit in my own guilt of how I was letting them down.
They're my constant reminder of why taking care of myself is such a benefit for them and for me that will always be why I take care of me.👨👦👦💗

1. Hummus and veggies: To help with portion control, either scoop out a quarter-cup serving or buy individual size packs. And instead of pita chips, dip carrots or celery, which are high in fiber, vitamins and minerals.
2. Blueberries and cottage cheese: A half-cup of cottage cheese with blueberries is an excellent choice for a snack, and it’s a perfect combination when you are in the mood for something sweet and savory. Adding a quarter cup of blueberries makes this a great source of cancer-fighting antioxidants and vitamins K and C. Want more antioxidant power? Switch out the blueberries for blackberries.
3. Low-sodium canned beans: Beans or legumes are an excellent source of plant protein, iron and dietary fiber. Fiber has been shown to help with blood sugar control, cholesterol control and weight loss. For example, just a half-cup of garbanzo beans provides 25% of the recommended dietary fiber in one day.
4. Sliced apples and peanut butter: The fiber and protein in half an apple and two teaspoons of natural style peanut butter make this snack a perfect combination. Notice I mentioned “natural style” PB. Watch out for PBs that contain a ton of sugar like Jiff or Skippy and remember it’s a high fat food so portion size matters.
5. Greek yogurt: An excellent source of calcium and protein with a lot less sugar than regular yogurts (double check the sugar content)
6. Almond butter on whole wheat toast: This is my kids bedtime snack.
7. Low-fat quesadilla: Heat one low-fat string cheese inside one corn tortilla for a quick low-fat quesadilla that will be filling and delicious.

1 cup mashed banana
¼ cup melted coconut oil
3 tbsp maple syrup
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 sachet @fem21aus
2 cups almond meal
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup raspberries
1️⃣ Preheat your oven to 160°C fan-forced and line a cake tin with baking paper.
2️⃣ In a bowl combine the banana, coconut oil, maple syrup, vanilla and @fem21aus
3️⃣ Add the almond meal and baking powder, and stir to combine.
4️⃣ Fold in the raspberries.
5️⃣ Spoon into a prepared baking tin and bake for 40 minutes or until a tooth pick comes out clean.
We love them topped with a little tahini 😍
