because it wouldn’t be like us to leave without trying their matcha ice cream with bracken strach jelly on top. personally I was hoping for the matcha to be more intense but the mochi and jelly gave the dish a nice chew and texture. nevertheless dinner was delicious @chopebk
My photos and stories from last week were about flea markets of Paris, my favorite restaurant and the shop in that area. Now, it’s time to come back to city but if you are still in the mood of shopping i could recommend you another store in the city. It’s a chic French lifestyle brand full of with innovative textiles, homewares and furnitures from around the globe. @caravane_paris
Caravane was originally founded by French designer, Françoise Dorget in 1995. Over the years, the brand is forging its own identity, based on accessible chic and a mix of styles. Jack-Eric and Véronique Piedeleu buy Caravan and both become new leaders in 2011. Madame Piedeleu likes traveling around the world and she finds products which are all based on craftsmanship. She believes in collaborating with the skilled artisans and learning their techniques help her to define the limits and be very considerate towards the craftspeople.
Now with eleven stores across Europe, the company employs more than sixty people from France, the UK and Denmark. Jack-Eric takes care of the commercial side including global store development, while their daughter Capucine, who joined four years ago, heads up the communication and digital departments.

Macadamia Crusted Mahi-mahi || $42
Sorry for the trash photo but this was delicious. It was perfectly seasoned and flavorful. The mash potatoes are amazing and the lillikoi beurre blanc added a great, flavorful creaminess. I loved it lots. Yum 😋.

Báhn Mì this afternoon where we can barely fit on the table let alone all our food. Loved the plate of fried egg and assortment of meats (fried pork, ham, pate). It comes with a baguette so you can make your own sandwich.
I recommend getting that over the original Bahn Mi because the fried eggs are soooo good and really rounds out the meal!

Curiosity killed my palette. I read rave reviews of Curious Palette but felt mostly let down.
Started by ordering were the Corned Beef Scotch Eggs ($18.90) and the Curious Breakfast ($24.50) with a Flat White ($4.90) and Mocha ($5.50). Ended by ordering the Berry Ricotta Hotcake ($14.90) for a second chance, as the mains failed to live up to the reviews. The Mocha and Flat White were decent, though that's about it.
The Corned Beef Scotch Eggs were cauliflower and peppers couscous, lettuce, corn & tomato salsa. The initial impression wasn’t bad. The scotch eggs were runny and has a nice fried exterior. The taste wasn’t as pleasing though. The corn beef was under-seasoned and the taste of the couscous didn’t agree with me. The salsa was a too acidic considering that the beef was under-flavoured and bit dry. It threw the balance off.
The Curious Breakfast was a maple-glazed pork belly with poached eggs, sautéed mushroom, avocado, spiced corn on the cob, pickled cabbage with golden raisins & toasted sourdough. The pork belly and sautéed mushrooms were good. However, the poached eggs were a bit overcooked and the spices used for the corn cob and pickled cabbages felt flat. Couscous tasted old. ☹
The Berry Ricotta Hotcakes took 30 mins to prepare. It was a pretty sight, with the vanilla
bean ice cream, berries, pumpkin & sunflower seeds and maple syrup. It was the best dish of the meal. The vanilla bean ice cream was spot on, with a strong but not overpowering vanilla taste and was just the right amount of creaminess. The blue berries and strawberries were sweet and helped to balance against the fluffy hotcakes. The seeds were a nice textual contrast. Couldn't taste the ricotta much though. Overall, a pretty enjoyable desser lt but not enough to save the day.

Street City Pub is a great hidden gem. I really enjoyed myself! Fridays they have improv for an hour and then karaoke! I'm sure they have lots more activities during the week. Most important they offer RUEBEN ROLLS which are hard to find! They make their own thousand island and it is a really great venue to relax with friends. Patio seating allows plenty of people watching on Sixth Street and the it's got a beautiful oak bar. There is plenty of space and it is kind of a secret still. Let's fill this place up and spread the word as all the servers were wonderful, the karaoke was on point, and again... Rueben rolls... Need I say more?!?! Chill vibe in our city! Only a block away from fountain square!!! #RUEBEN ROLLS. #STREETCITYPUB#THATNATILIFE#513#LOCALEATS#DOWNTOWN#HIDDENGEM#BAR#FOODIE#LOCALEATS#EVERYMANSBAR#GOODFOOD#GREATSTAFF
Reviews are in for 2019 Taste of Cincinnati favorites and I gotta be honest... Flavors of the Isle located in Findlay Market wins for unique, authentic, pricing, and flavor. #3 per large drumstick. Their sauce was so good we got a big bottle for $7! The jerk chicken seasoning was unique and original! We followed that with the strawberries and cream waffle. These are unique too because they have large sugar crystals on the top that satisfy the sweet tooth. The waffle was a perfect texture and had a soft dense but perfect firm outside like you want in a Belgium waffle. The blood orange gelato is only seasonal so try it while you can! Bold flavor! All natural ingredients! The vegan pick is this killer mushroom sandwich. I was afraid it wouldn't have enough flavor or that it would be covered up by the bread but it was the perfect combo! Try it all! Go with a friend, share, and sample more places. I took notes on places I want to try at their home locations so stay tuned!!!! #tasteofcincinnati#yasssqueencity #513#localeats #findlaymarket#foodie #thatnatilife# #foodtrucks#flavorsoftheisle#flavortown#chicken#waffles#gelato#mushroomsammy
Sage Duck breast with saffron rice and pan-fried corn. Duck breast needs to be cooked a certain way to be great. It’s a red meat, so cooking it medium rare like steak is damn near perfection. I season mine with a pork and chop salt/pepper/garlic mix, but add sage as well. I cook duck breast skin side down in a stainless steel oven-safe frying pan on the stove top (do not turn the element on til cooking begins) to start until the fat from thick layer of skin is rendered down and creates an incredible gravy. Sear the rest of the duck breast, then put the frying pan in a preheated oven (200c/400f) for approximately 6-8 minutes. It may not be medium rare, but sometimes I slice the duck after and pan-sear it for just a few seconds each side in its own juices. I think this is actually better than medium rare. Either way, use the duck fat in the pan as a drizzle over the vegetables and duck breast when serving. The corn i quickly pan-fried in the duck fat as well, only takes a minute or so. .

The Turkish pide bread is becoming my favorite sourdough homebake. Dive in when warm/ don’t waste time by slicing
75% or 80 % hydration of any bread recipe will do. All steps are similar except shaping is a disc shaped ball. Than goes to the fridge overnight. In the morning It sits on the counter a few hours to relax and rise more. Finally i brushed the top with yogurt and molasess mixture and made the dimples ( similar to focaccia) hot oven 230 centigrade 20 min on oncovered/ cooked on a cast iron tray. Thanks for recipe and tips @berguzar.erden

The evening was cool enough that I wanted hot noodle soup. Bun Bo (a spicy pork noodle soup from Hue), on 127 Ngô Gia Tự, is perfectly made & 25k a bowl. I also went to Quán Bún Thịt Nướng 163 (a 30 year institution) for their mixed banh beo & vermicelli topped with spiced grilled pork & deep fried pork grinds for 35K a plate. You eat so well for so very little in Vietnam. These two were in a restaurant shop too. So much to eat too besides pho.
Hope your Memorial Day Weekend has been filled with enough food to fill you up and salt water to keep you afloat💦 People warned me about being pregnant during the summer🔥, but failed to mention that being in the pool is the best thing ever! Going from feeling like I swallowed a bowling ball to weightless is pure magic. You know where to find me (and send allll the baguettes) until 👶🏻 decides to make his/her debut!
grab yourself a festive cocktail and relax because it’s a three day weekend 🇺🇸🥂 @burgerologyny bomb pop cocktail is sure to do the trick😋 I love the layers on this drink ‼️ #zerinatethis
My next meal this weekend was from @basilmedfield! I got fettuccine alfredo with grilled shrimp 🤤 look at that cheesy goodness! This dish doesn’t even begin to cover the amazing menu they offer. From escargot to calamari to steak tips everything looked so good. It was the perfect place for a big graduation dinner!
