I was actually able to do the full 100 reps on one leg before switching this time! Except I did take a break at 50 for each leg. And then afterward my hamstrings were so stiff and sore! Major stretches afterward. ❤️

I used to think foods were either “fattening” and went straight to fat storage when consumed, while others were um.. “not fattening” 🤨 I would try to exclude the fattening foods even though I enjoyed them.. if I had a period of weakness, I felt terrible about eating these kinds of foods 👎 ...even though I would see the ripped kids at lunch eating burgers, french fries, and pizza 🍔🍟🍕

No food will make you fat unless you are OVEREATING IN TOTAL CALORIES ☝️ You do not need to hide from the foods you enjoy, even if they are low in micronutrients 🍨 (eat your fruits/vegetables at another point during the day 🤷♀️🥦) Any food can be included into a diet that WORKS FOR YOU and that YOU CAN ADHERE TO 💪
I actually eat a lot more ice cream nowadays than on the left 😂🍦 BUT I also control my calorie intake, eat more vegetables and lean protein sources, and exercise a similar amount of time 🤗
Doesn’t matter where you start, just keep taking steps in the right direction 💪

I was told I would be nothing. I am a high school drop out. I was ridiculed because I was someone who was suppose to be nothing. I got so caught up in my weight. I lost sight 👀 of what mattered beside the scale 🤦🏼♀️. My “friends” thought I was embarrassing. And other thought I was seeking attention. When all in all it wasn’t about them. It wasn’t about attention. It was about what I weighed. I wasn’t even about myself. Then life changed for me it wasn’t quick it wasn’t a year later, it wasn’t even two.. 5 years into recovery. I became ME. not NOTHING. Not what the past PEOPLE think of me (because all those people hate me because well my story is real. And well I became jeslyn the best person I could be) this high school drop out now weighs in at 126 5’2 I work three jobs. Which I payed for this be education. I have 0 student debt. I am a personal trainer 💁🏼♀️💪🏻 on the side of my full time job. I have another part time job that just for fun. And I look back at all the people who told me I gotta I would be nothing and pray for you to live the life I live. My family loves me ❤️ I have the most amazing 😉 #gymfam. And the biggest support system I have ever had. A guy that loves me for who I am 😭💁🏼♀️. So here what I have to say. 🖕🏼the people who “knew you”. Be the best you can be! And never listen 👂 to crap 💩. If there’s one thing I’ve learned about wellness, it’s that it looks completely different on everyone. ✨
You can’t base it off one blogger, influencer, or brand.
Nowadays, so many “health trends” turn into businesses (the power of marketing is terrifying). Plus, we are all SO different- coming from different backgrounds, life experiences (good and bad), and no one body is the same... So why try to box it into one category? Or why bother comparing? 🤷🏼♀️ What if we focused that energy towards something else? ••• If there’s one thing I’ve learned about wellness, it’s that you must look inward to figure it out for yourself.
Through trial and error, through failure, discomfort, through listening to your body and letting go of the how we appear on the outside (one of the hardest things to do in my eyes). The thing about wellness is, it changes from day to day; its riding the ebs and flows without question... for no day is the same and that’s okay. That’s life.
The thing about wellness is, it’s something I’m continually having to work on and define for myself. It’s a journey and it sure as hell isn’t linear.
If we were to block out the noise of diet culture, society, and detach ourselves from the physical body, what would wellness look like to you and you only? Just some #foodforthought on this beautiful Saturday. ☀️

I thank God for EXPERIENCE.
I thank God for testimonies. The ones of the past and those yet to come.
Those who know me know that the Lord has tested my faith these past couple of years. & if you know me really well you’d know that I had the most unhealthy childhood.
I was having a convo with my mom the other day and she said “Ama I know your life wasn’t easy.. I did the best I could... but I thank God because that’s why you pray and preach like that” (since my bridal shower she’s been so mushy 😭)
But it reminded me of James 1:2-4 “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”
—————————————————————————— Every trial that tests our faith will produce fruit!! And the fruit will serve as a reminder to the world that YAHWEH IS FAITHFUL. YAHWEH IS INTENTIONAL. YAHWEH IS A REDEEMER.
YAHWEH IS UNDEFEATED. YAHWEH IS THE ONLY GOD. Periodt.
