I find that the best way to get myself out of a funk is to either put myself together and go out (just for a drive or shopping) and obviously, go to the gym. Nothing makes me snap out of it than feeling pretty and or working on my body. Im definately not the type of person who can lay in bed all day eating snacks and watching tv. I have to have my day filled and planned out or else ill feel lazy and even worse about myself.

Front squats felt decent today 🙂.. I seriously need to do these more .. I feel like I’m always saying that 🙄🙄.🤦🏻♀️.. Don’t you !?? This was my last set . And after this... a Metcon .. 12,10,8 down to 2 of heavy swings and one arm snatches with 30 dubs in between. Nothing too exciting .. just more of everything lol ..💁🏻♀️ ... Don’t stop doing what you know you need to be doing just because it starts to get mundane or seems monotonous.. sometimes the scenery ain’t always something to talk about , but the road is still taking you where you need to go 💪🏼

Sometimes during your fitness journey, while striving to reach a goal, you will feel as if you are making no measurable gain. This is normal. It happens. Especially for you blue collar fitness folk whose fitness goals are not the main focus of their lives.
If you find yourself making no measurable gain in weight loss, muscle building, strength gain, etc. you must keep showing up, keep putting in the work and keep striving toward progression even when it seems unlikely.
I’ll explain why:
Sisyphus, a Greek mythology figure was said to be damned for eternity to push a giant stone up a steep mountain. Just as he was about to reach the top, he would lose the stone and watch it tumble back to the bottom, every time. He was damned to repeat this for eternity. Some might say there is no positive gain to this madness, but I would argue that point of view.
Repeatedly doing a physically difficult task that doesn’t produce a personal record everyday is not a bad thing. It usually makes you physically stronger and better at the task in the first place. But it’s not just about the physical, it’s about the mental. Doing a difficult task over and over again builds character. It builds willpower and builds mental fortitude.
By continuing to show up and put in the hard work even when you see no measurable gain in the present, will in the long run help you more. You will learn more about yourself, tread waters you’ve never been in and really see how far you are willing to go in order to reach your goal.
Having a trainer to push you through these times, keep you accountable and keep you on track is priceless. Do not just give up when the going gets tough. Get tough until you get going. Train your life to change your life.

Overweight is a disease.
Even if (slight) overweight supposedly does not seem to be bad - I did not realize it - it has many problems in the long run.
The longer we are overweight, the more health problems and sick years we will have in old age. ,
It was the best decision to finally take my life into my own hands.
I changed my diet sustainably, started sports, abandoned old habits and opened myself up to new things.
I can tell you, it's not complicated if you know how to do it. .

DO YOU OVER COMMIT TO PLANS? Specifically during the week? I am SO guilty of this.
I’m sure many of you feel the same way: you go to look at the week ahead only to find you’ve somehow locked yourself into dinners Mon-Fri. Personally, I’m exhausted at the end of the day … I NEED this time to recharge, catch up on work and/or just. literally. CHILL.
I love going out to dinner and being social, but a girls gotta recharge! It’s hard because on one hand, seeing friends in IRL and being social is really important - but on the other hand, saying yes all the time might have you showing up no where near your best self. Here are some non-dinner alternatives so you can still some face time in with friends without having to give up too much of your precious week nights:
♥️ MANIS. — You have to do it anyway, and it’s a good chunk of *phone-less* time - why not bring a friend to pass the time!?
♥️ WORKOUT + COFFEE + WALK HOME AFTER. — Bringing a friend to workout is a great way to motivate each other and have fun, but it’s not the best place to catch up! Grab a coffee and walk in the direction of work/home after.
♥️ GROUP FRIENDS TOGETHER. — One on one time is great, but it’s also really fun to set up a group dinner so you can spend time with a bunch of friends at once, instead of spreading them all out over different nights.
♥️ COOK TOGETHER. — A great alternative to a night out. And, you’ll likely have leftovers, which will save you more time later in the week.
♥️ GO TO AN EVENT. — If you get an invite somewhere and don’t want to go solo, invite that friend who would value it specifically - because you most likely have one! (ie. A networking event, etc).
♥️SUNDAY MEAL PREP/BAKING. — who can honestly turn down freshly baked banana chocolate chip muffins? Next time you’re in the mood to bake, invite a friend over to do it with you.

Current weight.... 156lbs at 5’7 and feeling the best I’ve ever felt in my life ✨....⠀
Normally I don’t talk about numbers, stats or weight to much on here because I don’t want people to compare or get too caught up in the numbers. But I was really thinking about how I used to think that numbers where all that mattered. My thoughts were that the sacks had to have a low number, my inches on my waist and thighs and everything needed to be small. “Tiny”, in fact, was my goal. ⠀
I got out of that mindset about 2 years ago when I started lifting at the gym. I STOPPED looking at the scale. I STOPPED measuring my waist, thighs, arms and butt. I STARTED focusing on how I felt rather then the numbers. ⠀
If you are one of those people who is highly focused on the numbers and it’s toxic for you and your physical and mental heath, please take this as a sign to make a change for yourself. To put away the scale and measuring tape and start focusing on how you feel. ⠀
The weight I am at right now is about 4lbs lighter then my heaviest. My heaviest was 160lbs a few months ago, but I’ve been doing cardio so it dropped a little bit as my overall body fat went down over time. ⠀
My point is that numbers shouldn’t be the focus. The focus should be how you feel about yourself, how confident you feel in your own body, how you feel when you look in the mirror. Focus on YOU, not the numbers. ⠀
