Homemade pesto with the family! Such an amazing experience, and it came out soooo good!!! Recipe:
2 cups basil
1/2 cup olive oil
1/2 cup parmesan cheese
Handful of walnuts (pinenuts are the official nut to use, but walnuts are a good second option)
2 cloves garlic
1tbsp of lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
Salt/ pepper to taste
Continue this formula as you go ! We made 3 L of pesto!! So good! Make sure you freeze it in cubes afterwards so it keeps well!
The robe. There’s a story behind this robe. I wear almost daily. (I took this picture last night) I got it about a year ago... not cause I wanted it but because I was going to be in my friends wedding the next month and I knew she was getting us all robes to wear while we got ready the morning of the wedding. When she told me excitedly about the robes i got a knot in my stomach. For the next few days that’s all I could think about. I played the embarrassment over and over again in my mind and how I’d shrug it off like I didn’t care if it didn’t fit. Well the anticipation was too great to bare so I got on amazon and found the same kinda robe that she was going to get us. I bought it and waited impatiently for it to come in so I could see how bad it would actually fit me. Robes had never fit me before and that’s why I was pretty sure this wouldn’t be any different. When it arrived I took it up to my bathroom and tried it on. Then I just stared in the mirror with frustration at myself for how fat I’d let myself get. For years now I’ve actually not really noticed that I’m fat... it hasn’t bothered me... but it’s things like this or airplane seats or 3 in the back seat of the car or not being able to find clothes that fit me well and feel like my style that remind me that indeed I am fat. Anyways, there wasn’t much I could do about the robe not fitting except prepare myself. When the wedding day came I was actually excited about wearing the robe, I had leggings and a undershirt and I rocked that robe and enjoyed every moment of it! No it didn’t close over my hips but that didn’t matter. I was focused on the bride and could care less about how I looked while getting ready, as long as I was getting ready. It was a lovely day and the robe means a lot to me now I wear it often too and I only have fond memories in it! One day both robes will close like they’re supposed to and I’m excited for that!

Everyone asks, how do you keep the food warm? I prepare the board with everything but the hot food, so for this board, leave a big EMPTY plate in the center.
